The District of Kansas announced on May 5 that it will cosponsor the annual POWER Act continuing legal education (CLE) webinar, scheduled for May 20 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time. The event will be hosted by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and conducted online.

The POWER Act encourages pro bono legal services as an important resource to empower survivors of domestic violence. This educational session is designed for legal professionals interested in supporting these efforts through their practice.

Honorable Laura Taylor Swain from the Southern District of New York and Jennifer Rawlings, Co-Director of the Center for Indigenous Peoples Rights, are set to present at the webinar. Participation is limited and requires registration in advance; those interested are directed to use the provided link to register for the program.

According to organizers, this event has been approved for CLE credit in Missouri and is pending approval in Kansas.

This initiative reflects ongoing efforts within federal courts to promote access to justice and support vulnerable communities through pro bono work.
