A federal grand jury in Topeka has indicted Danny Ray Stano Jr., 44, of Topeka, on charges related to drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms.

Court documents state that Stano faces one count of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Authorities allege that Stano had five firearms in his possession, which he is legally barred from owning. He is also accused of conspiring to possess methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is handling the investigation into these allegations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jared Maag is prosecuting the case.

“An indictment is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law,” the release stated.
